Whilst working abroad I became intersted in social and community problems, which led me to higher education, when I attended Sheffield Hallam University betweeen 1991 and 1994. I gained an understanding of sociology, psychology and interpersonal communication. Since completing my degree I have worked extensively for 12 years with vulnerable people from all income brackets and sectors of society. I have worked with single homeless young people and homeless families with children in resettlement, individuals who misuse drugs and alcohol, people with mental and physical health problems, ex-offenders, women fleeing domestic abuse and male and female survivors of sexual/physical abuse. I spent the first ten years in front line face-to-face support. My aspiration is for individuals in therapy to take control of their lives |
